Celebrates National Health Center Week 2012

Bronx Community Health Network, Inc. celebrates National Health Center Week (August 5-11). The weeklong (August 5-11) campaign to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of community health centers will be commemorated with three events. The events will provide health education to patients and the community, recognize outstanding patients and staff members and raise awareness about programs and health care services available for free or at low cost for the community.
BCHN Health Fair

FREE TO THE PUBLIC
Kicking off the week, our third annual health fair will focus on keeping the uninsured healthy and out of hospital emergency rooms by providing referrals to affordable high quality health care, various no-cost health screenings, nutrition education, fitness and increasing fruit and vegetable consumption through Farmer’s Market purchases. There will be 30 information booths and fun fitness activities for adults and children.
No-Cost Digital Mammograms and Clinical Breast Exams (Mobile Unit)

BCHN will continue celebrations by offering No-Cost Mammograms to women over 40 years old, who have not had a mammogram within the last 12 months (1 year).
Annual Community Health Professionals Dinner

BCHN will wrap up the week with this annual event that recognizes the hard work of health center staff and hand-selected Patient Health Champions. Health Educators, Nutritionists, Patient Navigators and Peer Educators will be recognized for their efforts and support of the community focused goals of BCHN.
